IMC GETS ADDITIONAL 13 GARBAGE DISPOSAL TRUCKS

Imphal, September 20, 2017 (DIPR): MAHUD Minister Shri Thounaojam Shyamkumar today handed over 13 Tata Ace Hopper Tipper garbage disposal trucks to the Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) workers. The vehicles were handed over to 7(seven) NGOs, working under the ‘Clean Imphal Project’ of the IMC. The function was held at MGT Motors showroom, Sangaiprou.

Speaking as the Chief Guest of the function, Th. Shyamkumar sought cooperation from all the sections of the society to keep the Imphal city as well as the environment clean. He said handing over of garbage disposal vehicles to the IMC workers is part of the effort to make Imphal, a clean city.

Minister Shyamkumar further appealed to the women vendors of the Khwairamband Keithel to cooperate with the IMC by keeping their respective areas need and clean. If individual vendors start cleaning their areas than it will help a lot in the mission, he added.

For purchase of each vehicle, the State Government will bear 35 percent of the total costs while NGOs will bear 50 percent of the total costs and remaining 15 percent by United Bank of India (UBI), Manipur. (DIPR)
