Imphal, May 8, 2017: Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh today strongly condemned the violent attack on the Territorial Army killing army personnel and leaving many casualties by the suspected militants in the Lokchao area of Tengnoupal District. Chief Minister further expressed deep grief and anguish over the killing and casualties of Army personnel in the unfortunate incident. He said that such attack is an act of cowardice and should be condemned by every section of the society. He conveyed his deep sympathies with the bereaved families of the soldiers and prayed for speedy recovery for those injured persons.
He also expressed his concern over the recent killings of civilians including those killed by the militants in the State. Those culprits would be booked and punished under the law soon, he assured.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh also condemned the recent cases of rape including the gang-rape of minor girls that took place in the State last month. Condemning these incidents in the strongest terms, Chief Minister said that such beastly and barbaric acts will not be tolerated by this government. The government is committed to give befitting punishments those perpetrators who are associated with such inhumane crimes. (DIPR)
