Imphal, 01 May, 2017, DIPR: On the occasion of May Day, MAHUD Minister Shri Th. Shyamkumar today announced that, the new government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh will discuss on increasing the wages for the employees of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) based on recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission. He was speaking as the Chief Guest of the function at ‘May Day Celebration 2017’ organised by the Imphal Municipal Employees’ Union (IMEU) at IMC Office, Imphal.
Minister Shyamkumar, who is also the Minister of Town Planning, Forests and Environment, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, stressed on the importance of giving equal rights and treatment to the workers for better productivity and to boost morals of the workers. Stating that the world will progress when we give respect to the workers, Minister Shyamkumar added that, the workers also need to perform their duties with honesty and discipline.
The Minister asked all the employees to work together to maintain cleanliness in and around Imphal city and added that all the necessary requirements of the workers will be fulfilled by the government. He also said that, maintaining punctuality and discipline are the key to success.
The function was attended by IMEU President, Shri N. Nimbus Singh as the Guest of Honour; IMC Mayor, Shri S. Sunil Singh as the President; M. Joy – Special Secretary MAHUD, Manipur; Ng. Uttam Singh – Joint Director MAHUD, Manipur and Th. Harikumar Singh – Municipal Commissioner of IMC as the special invitees along with employees of IMC. (DIPR)
