NO PLAN TO REMOVE DISTURBED AREA STATUS

Imphal, August 2, 2017 (DIPR): Hon’ble Chief Minister, Manipur replied to the Starred Question No. 59 raised by Shri K Ranjit Singh that there is no plan to remove Disturbed Area Status in other Assembly Segments except the 10 Assembly Segments of Greater Imphal during the Day 12 of the ongoing 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly Session.

Due to recent flood in Manipur, 76,677 acre of land was submerged and damaged by flood, said Shri V. Hangkhanlian, Agriculture Minister in reply to a Starred question number 60 raised by Hon’ble Members Shri S. Bira Singh and Md. Fajur Rahman. Out of the damaged lands, 307 acres of maize growing areas, 300 acresw fo pulses areas, 150 acres of vegetable oils and 20 acres of sugarcane planting areas were damaged, the minister added.

Agriculture Minister said that the Agriculture Department has taken steps with the help of DAOs to plant 12.5 metric ton of community paddy nursery which can be planted in 20 acres of land and can be harvested within a short period. Directorate of Agriculture also have shown seeds in 15 acres of paddy fields in Sainik School Farm at Pangei, the minister added.

In another starred question number 65 raised by Hon’ble Member Kh. Joykishan Singh, Social Welfare Minister Shri Nemcha Kipgen stated that at present the department is in the process of identifying ineligible pensioners, based on which number of actual eligible pensioners and left out pensioners will be identified. The decision will be taken after compiling all necessary data and financial implication involved in it. Two schemes, namely Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) and Financial Assistance to Poor and Needy Women is being taken up, the minister added.

In a starred question numbered 66 raised by Hon’ble Member Shri N Loken Singh, Consumer Affairs Food & Civil Supply Minister Shri Th. Shyamkumar Singh replied that Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) Scheme was launched in Manipur on June 5, 2017. 5287 beneficiaries have benefited from the scheme, he added. In the starred question numbered 67 raised by Hon’ble Member Shri Okram Henry Singh, the minster replied that the 32 fair price shops (FPS) of Wangkhei A/C has lifred rice upto the month of May, 2017 and for S.K. Oil upto the month of November, 2016. Due to non-deposit of cost of rice by concerned FPS Agents, rice had not been distributed at the concerned FPS and S.K. oils, due to non-supply by IOC, he added.

In reply to the starred question numbered 64 raised by Hon’ble Member Shri K. Ranjit Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur replied that there are 39 cases registered under Cyber Crime during 2016 to July 15, 2017. The Cyber Crime Unit had been set up in 2013 beginning June 24, 2017 where awareness programs are organised by the Police Department along with public as a part of prevention and control of Cyber Crime related issues, he added.

Replying Hon’ble Member Shri O Surjakumar Singh’s Starred Question number 62, Hon’ble Chief Minister said that the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), a Government of India organization, was set-up in the year 2004 with a land area of 3 acres. The Information Technology Special Economic Zone (IT SEZ) has as land area of 10.85 hectares. Construction of 1st Building of IT SEZ building number 1 with 1.38 lakhs sq.ft. is taken up under State PWD Manipur for which Rs. 72.22 crores has been released to PWD and Rs. 19.50 crores provide through SPA is available with the State Government. 50 % of the works has been completed till date as reported by PWD. Land development, drainage at IT SEZ Mantripukhri and approach road, Imphal is also under construction, Chief Minister added. Regarding the Information Technology Park (IT Park) in Mantripukhri, Hon’ble Chief Minister replied that the IT Park was inaugurated on July 4, 2015 with 5 local IT/ITES firms operating with 200 IT professional at the Park. Dormitory for boys and girls and electronics shed for Electronic System Design & Manufacturing are under construction, he added.

In a Starred Question Number 61 raised by Hon’ble Member Shri D. Korungthang if there is inclusion of some villages of Chandel and Tengnoupal Districts in Thoubal district, Revenue Minister Shri Karam Shyam replied that there no inclusion as such. (DIPR)
