TRIPARTITE TALKS BETWEEN GOI, GOM AND UNC HELD

19th May, 2017, DIO, Senapati : In continuation of the tripartite talks between Government of India, Government of Manipur and United Naga Council in order to consider issues related to the economic blockade called by the UNC on the National Highways, a tripartite meeting was held at DRDA conference Hall, Senapati distict headquarters, today.
The following were the agreements taken in the tripartite talk:
1) The focal point No.1 of the agreement arrived at in the tripartite talks on 19th March, 2017 is reaffirmed by all the parties.
2) It was all agreed that the Government of Manipur would be represented at the political level in the next round of talks.
3) Till such time an amicable settlement to the issue of creation of the new districts is arrived at, the Government of Manipur and United Naga Council will mutually respect the points agreed upon in the tripartite talks held on 19th March, 2017.
It was also agreed that the next round of talk will be held at Senapati within a month.
The meeting was represented by Gaidon kamei, President, UNC, S.Milan, Gen. Secretary, UNC, Seth Shatsang President All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur, Asha Wungnam, President Naga Women’s Union from UNC’s side, O. Nabakishore Singh, Chief Secretary, GOM, Dr .J. Suresh Babu, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), GOM, K. Radhakumar Singh Commissioner (Works), GOM and Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary (NE), Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI from the side of Government of India. (DIPR)
