HOME GUARD EMPLOYEES DONATES RS 1,00,000 FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

Imphal, July 5, 2017 (DIPR): The Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association today met Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh at Chief Minister’s Secretariat and donated Rs 1,00,000 towards the CM Relief fund to help people who were severely affected by the recent floods in the State.
Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh expressed his gratitude to such noble step by the Home Guards which would help those people who are affected by natural calamities in the State.
It may be mentioned that thousands of people are displaced and hundreds of houses have been inundated by flood in the recent incessant rains in various areas of the State. The State government has taken up various relief measures to control the situation and also declared the disaster as “State Calamity” on July 3rd, 2017. A 24X7 State Disaster Control Room (0385-2443441) has been set-up to monitor the situation and for timely coordinated action by District Administration and concerned departments. (DIPR)
